"went for a walk up the hills then popped in for a pint. Saw the food been served around us and thought we'd give it a go. My small fish & chips(on a 2-4-1 offer) was amazing. The fish? the most moist and tender I've had outside of top end restaurants, the chips, so often the forgotten part were crispy and hot and the mushy peas were just lke the chip shops' used to serve. So with my voucher, which could be used Mon-Thurs on a limited menu, brought the price of my meal to £4.95.. It was £8.95 but cheaper meal was free. Beautiful." -review by scott h

"Just spent the evening in the restaurant with 4 friends. Trout was probably the best I've had for some time. We all enjoyed the food and staff were very friendly and helpful. Am looking forward to repeating the experience." -review by Vicky P
"Pretty sweet mate. Had a carvery t'other day and it was spot on. Bit o'gravy in a nice massive round yorkie did the job perfectly, couldn't complain about anything. Exceptional service, got waited on by someone called Dan and although he hada pretty large head and walked funny, I got all my food quickly. Was a shame about Oliver cutting the meat, as he had clearly never worked a day in his life, but it was made up for by an anonymous gentleman behind the bar who tended to my every need, and kept the bar well in check. Lastly I should mention that whoever runs this joint does a dam fine job, and should be very proud of his hard working staff, as they seem not just to be working for the money, but working for him, and for their own undenying love for the Hill Tavern.
